Never in my life have I witnessed so much hype and speculation over a wedding. Although, it’s not just a wedding – it’s a Royal wedding and it comes at a time when the world is desperately seeking happy news for a change. It’s a celebration that will bring two people together and we are all invited to admire the general splendor – well, sort of.
More than 2 billion people are expected to tune in on April 29 to watch history be made. Since their engagement was announced via Twitter less than six months ago, media outlets around the world have been suffering from wedding fever, allocating countless resources, time and money to covering what will undoubtedly be the wedding of the decade.
In keeping with the times, this royal wedding is the first to go digital. In case you missed it, the nuptials will be streamed live on the internet and you will be able to purchase the William and Kate wedding album on iTunes, including a recording of the entire ceremony with readings and music.
If you’re a real royal buff, you can now download a variety of mobile apps to help you countdown to the big day, read all about the beautiful couple, view photos and take the royal wedding personality test. You can even choose a wedding dress for Kate in the Dress the Royals app.

And if you’re not interested at all, you can at least admire the way organisers have successfully turned this wedding into a multimedia extravaganza, harnessing the best of smartphone technology and social media to share every minute detail with the world, when and how we want it.
